These terms apply to use of the HostaFinder website and its public plant information. Last updated October 17, 2026. For a question, email support@hostafinder.com.
Use the site to research plants and compare information. Keep account and submission details accurate, publish only material you may use, and confirm any purchase terms with the actual grower. A catalogue page does not reserve a plant or create a seller offer.
The public service
HostaFinder provides a free public cultivar catalogue, selection tools, growing guides and a developing grower directory. Plant information supports research and does not guarantee a particular result in your garden.
A named profile and a quiz result do not establish stock, price, a diagnosis or certain cultivar identification. Read the sources and seek a suitable local or diagnostic service when a decision needs more evidence.
Accounts and acceptable use
Use accurate account information and protect your sign-in credentials. Do not use another person’s account without permission, interfere with the service, attempt to access private records or submit misleading information.
Public browsing does not require payment. A paid account feature, if available, must state its actual price and billing terms before a charge. These site terms do not replace the terms shown for an existing member subscription.
Nursery profiles and plant purchases
Growers are responsible for their business identity, cultivar labels, current stock, photos and sale information. Sellers must communicate their actual plant form, size, price, delivery area and shipping or sale terms to buyers.
A nursery profile is not HostaFinder-owned stock or a guarantee of nursery quality. Before arranging a purchase, confirm the seller and the terms that apply to that transaction. HostaFinder does not create a universal plant guarantee, delivery promise or refund policy for growers.
Photos, reviews and other submissions
Submit only text, photographs and other material that you own or have permission to publish. Do not include another person’s private information without permission or present a generic or generated image as a verified photo of a named plant.
By sending material for a public feature, you permit HostaFinder to display and format it for that feature, including reasonable resizing and layout changes. You keep your ownership. Do not submit material if you lack the rights needed for that use.
We may remove or restrict material that is misleading, unsafe, abusive, unrelated to the feature or subject to a rights concern. Publication or removal does not establish that a plant identity, review or seller claim has been independently certified.
Information and service changes
Source descriptions, stock and website features can change. Check the current page and seller information at the time you make a decision. Temporary service interruptions and incomplete catalogue records can occur.
These terms do not promise perfect accuracy or uninterrupted access. Nothing here removes rights or obligations that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Questions and reports
Email support@hostafinder.com to report a site problem, inaccurate plant claim, account issue or rights concern. Include the page URL and enough information to locate the issue. Contact the actual seller directly for a plant-order or shipping issue.
We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and update date will appear on this page.
Frequently asked questions
Does reading a profile reserve a plant?
No. Catalogue use and seller stock are separate. Any purchase needs a real seller offer and the terms supplied for that transaction.
Can I upload a photo from another nursery website?
Only if you have the rights or permission needed to publish it here. A source credit alone does not establish permission to copy a photo.
Who should handle an issue with a plant I bought?
Contact the seller using the details supplied with the purchase. These site terms do not replace the seller’s actual sale terms or applicable buyer rights.
